The Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window.. a gorgeous, cool and crisp, October day, with intense blue skies with a smattering of white fluffy clouds. An absolutely perfect fall day.

I am thinking... about the Bible study I'm starting.

I am thankful for... a computer that works LOL

From the kitchen... Jumbalaya and cornbread....yummmm...

I am wearing... comfy (my special 'brand' of clothing) soft, black cotton pants and even softer black top

I am creating... a new blog called Just Between Us, with the help of design specialist, Edie, from Rich Gifts. I won a blog makeover and she's designing it for me.

I am going... to the second hand bookstore to see if I can pick up a few inexpensive copies of a book I want to use for a Bible study.

I am reading... I Surrender: Submitting to Christ in the Details of Life (thanks Gloria!), The Warm and Welcome Home, Discipling One Another.

I am hoping... that our car's radiator isn't messed up... something's leaking...

I am hearing... the strange grumbling of my refrigerator.

Around the house... I really would like to get flooring down on these concrete floors.

One of my favorite things... is/are autumn leaves. Each so unique in such a gorgeous array of colors.

A few plans for the rest of the week: our church's Harvest of Blessings Festival, my daughter and son-in-law coming in on the weekend for her birthday.

Sorry.... since my home computer crashed -all my pics are gone so I had to pull something off my husband's laptop which I'm using for this posting. LOL!. This is a pic I had saved on it that I had used for a jail ministry Bible lesson.

This week we will start a study using the book, "I Surrender: Submitting to Christ in the details of life"... and of course, the Bible.

And I also want to start another one about transposing biblical hospitality into a modern day life - I'm still reading, studying and writing on that one.

Do You Know the GOOD NEWS?

God loves us so much that He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to be born into this world as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Jesus Christ lived a completely sinless life, but He took on the sins of this world - mine and yours - and He died on Calvary in our place, for our sins, so that WE could be restored to a beautiful covenant relationship with our Heavenly Father, Almighty God. You don't have to carry your sins any longer. You don't have to pay the price for your sins. Repent of them and let the blood of Jesus cover you, washing away your sins in forgiveness. Become a new person in Christ Jesus and realize the hope of eternal life with Him in Heaven.... If you want to know more about the One who would do such an incredible thing for you - or you want to know how to allow Him to forgive your sins - please leave your questions or remarks under the comment section of any of the posts.

Singing a new song...

I wrote the following song several years ago, as God began revealing His grace to me in my everyday life. I consider this my testimony.

There Was Grace

I used to think that I knew Christ,
that I had given Him my life
I thought my soul secure
in all the things I did to be right
But I was caught up in a world of black and white,
I had no room for grace
Until one day, between the lines,
I clearly saw His face

And there was grace
Made more abundant for my desperate need
Yes, there was grace
Grace that touched my life and set me free
I found all along my steps were led
to a place where I would find...
His grace

Now, I'm walking in a new life,
my heart is light and free
The guilt's been lifted and erased
by His perfect liberty
The law of love now guides my steps,
following His righteousness
And it's all because there was grace

Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?

That's the question Paul asked of some believers in Acts 19:2.

After you ask God to forgive you of your sins and you believe and confess that Jesus Christ is, in fact, the only perfect, sinless sacrifice who can redeem your soul from hell,
did you know that you can receive more?

We were told about the Holy Ghost way back in the Old Testament and it is the promise that Jesus, himself, referred to so many times. Finally, as Jesus was leaving this earth, He told His disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait there until they had received the promise, the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost is so wonderful - He's a teacher, a guide, the comforter. The Holy Ghost is power. It is the very Spirit of God LIVING inside you. So much is promised to us through the Holy Ghost. Jesus wanted you to be filled with this wonderful power, this anointing - this gift. If you believe in Him, accept the promise of the Father - the gift of the Holy Ghost.
