We sing this song at church, and I just love it ~
You are God, alone
From before time began
You were on Your throne
You were God, alone
And right now, in the good times and bad
You're still on Your throne
You are God, alone
Unchangeable
Unshakeable
Unstoppable
That's what You are
How comforting to know that on this day, and tomorrow and the next day, God is on His throne, He is God all by Himself, He needs nothing and no-one to help Him out.
Sometimes, we have trouble understanding and believing that there is an entity that never becomes obsolete - but God has not lost any of His power.
* The God that parted the waters for the Israelites... He's still the One on the throne, today.
* The God that freed the three Hebrew boys from their fiery experience - He's still the One on the throne, today.
* The God that rescued Daniel from the lions... He is still the One on the throne, today.
The only difference today, is that because He revealed Himself through Jesus Christ, we get to call this Holy God, 'father'. He's still powerful. He's still holy. He's still the awesome Yahweh, the revered tetragrammaton, but we can call Him , 'abba, father'.
And He is still on His throne, overlooking this world, examining everything that enters into mine. He loves us and He is all that we need. He has the power to save, to protect, to heal - He is God, alone.
Yes He is! I love this song Barb, and this post. Thank you for stopping me to think about who He is and His unending power.
